150 people under the baton of Erik Ochsner [in Polish]

FESTIWAL MUZYKI FILMOWEJ | 2024.05.17 | Marta Gruszecka

After the premiere of “The Lion King”, the language that gained the greatest popularity was… Swahili, spoken in Central and Eastern Africa. The world got to know him thanks to Timon and Pumbaa, who, regardless of the circumstances, eagerly sang “hakuna matata”. In Swahili it means “don’t worry.” During the 17th FMF, the song “Hakuna Matata” and other compositions will be performed live by as many as 150 experienced musicians. The Beethoven Academy Orchestra and two choirs: the Krakow Philharmonic and Pro Musica Mundi will be conducted by maestro Erik Ochsner. The American of Finnish origin enjoys recognition all over the world, has performed on stages from Los Angeles to Sydney and is one of the most important conductors of film music. Participation in the premiere of “Disney. The Lion King” will be his fourth appearance at the Film Music Festival in Krakow.

* The “Disney. The Lion King” concert is scheduled for May 26 (5 p.m.) at Tauron Arena Kraków (Lema 7). The film will be available with audio description for blind and visually impaired people and with PJM translation for deaf people. Detailed information about the facilities can be found on the fmf.fm website.
